Community Projects

Empty Bowls Project

This year CHVE third grade students participated in the Empty Bowls Project. Every 3rd grade student created a bowl for this charity event. The Empty Bowls are a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. We are helping make a difference by donating all proceeds to Food Bank of the Rockies. Each dollar raised provides four meals through the food bank.

This year our third grade students raised $620.00! That is 2,480 meals!

I can’t thank the third grade students, their families and our generous community enough for such an amazing gift for the Food Bank of the Rockies right before the holiday season. Thanks you CHVE community!
P.S. If you have not received your bowl home yet, there are a few kids/classes that need to finish due to remote learning.

Cherry Hills Village Snow Plow
2019
The last few years the city of Cherry Hills Village has asked our school, along with St. Mary's and Kent, to paint one of their 3 snow plows blades. We ran a contest for a 5th grade student to come up with our school's design and draw it on the plow blade. Below is the final product!

Artist in Residency

Last year we had a very successful art fund-raiser. With those funds we  hired a wonderful local muralist, Tony Ortega. Tony came in every Friday during the month of September to work with all first – fifth grade students during their scheduled art class time. The murals were  created outside the art room and will soon be hung in two separate halls here at CHVE. The theme of the mural is nature and science.
Below are some pictures of the mural being created.
