After School Art Club

Art Classes are held after school on Tuesdays in the art room. You can also email Mrs. Roberts at: tararocks1976@gmail.com

Art Apprenticeship

The art apprenticeship group will learn how to enhance their artistic skills by participating in mini-art lessons and create advanced art projects. They will also help others in our school community by being an art mentor and will receive training on how to be an art docent for various art shows. This opportunity will not only enhance the students’ art background, knowledge & creative skills, but will also help these students learn how to be leaders in the field of art. These activities will take place during and after school. There will be 15 slots for apprentices. Students who are interested will need to apply to the program by filling out the attached form.

When:

· I will have 3- 4 students join me at each of our art shows to discuss the art in the show (The West Area Show, Curtis Show, CCSD Elementary Show). Dates are TBA, all will take place in March & April, they are usually 5 pm – 7pm (Students are expected to stay for at least 30 minutes)
· Every student must attend our annual CHVE Art Show on Thursday, April 30 for one hour (event is from 5 pm – 7 pm) and help in the art center or be a docent for the event.
· Students will be able to mentor students at each grade level through out the year during the school day. These times happen monthly and are prearrange with their teachers.
· Finally, we will meet as a group after school the last Monday every month (September – April) for 1 hour to create our own projects.
· Once students have been chosen I will send out the calendar.

Who: 15 fourth and fifth grade students who meet the application credentials.

Where: The Art Room & La Tronico center

How to sign up: Sign up forms will be sent home to 4^th & 5^th grade students who are interested this week. There are also forms in the lobby.
